The plasmolift procedure is used in dentistry for chronic generalised marginal periodontitis, localised periodontitis, postextractional alveolitis, periimplantitis, but also for periodontal disease prophylaxis.
Its action is based on the regenerative effect of platelet plasma, which is injected into the affected areas. The use of platelet-rich plasma is currently one of the few ways of directing wound healing and preventing infection without the use of drugs.
